This free breakfast event (8:00 am to 10:00 am) features the following extraordinary panel:
- The Honorable Stanley Sporkin of the Gavel Consulting Group; former judge on the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia (1985-2000) and former Director of the SEC’s Division of Enforcement (1974-1981)
- Thomas Sporkin, Chief, SEC Enforcement’s Office of Market Intelligence
- George Curtis, partner at Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher; former Regional and Deputy Director of the SEC’s Division of Enforcement (2006-2009)
- John Reed Stark, Managing Director, Stroz Friedberg; former founder and Chief, SEC Enforcement’s Office of Internet Enforcement (1998-2009)
The panel will address the numerous pressing and historic issues now facing the SEC. Topics are expected to include the Enforcement Division’s current top priorities, its ongoing wide-scale restructuring, the future of the Wells process, the appropriate metrics for measuring the Enforcement Division’s success, the Division’s role in responding to the financial crisis, and much more.
